mit „music i believe in“ von marcus füreder präsentiert das wiener label temp~records den fünften release und freut sich gleichzeitig über das einjährige jubiläum.
marcus füreder, betreiber des labels etage noir, fiel im letzten jahr vor allem durch seine releases unter dem pseudonym parov stelar auf, unter dem er einige jazz-housige club-hits auf etage noir und auf auris recordings landen konnte. aber auch unter seinem bürgerlichen namen kann er schon releases unter anderem auf raum…musik vorweisen. darin widmete er sich aber – wie auch im vorliegenden release – immer elektronischeren sounds im minimal-house bereich.
auf “music i believe in” befinden sich 3 für den clubeinsatz geschaffene tracks und ein remix. track 1, “ash”, gespickt mit textzitaten aus den achtzigern nimmt auch soundmäßig entsprechende anleihen und ist der eingängigste track auf dieser e.p. der titeltrack “music i believe in” versteht sich gleicherwohl als klare ansage als auch als link zu früheren marcus füreder nummern.
“premantura”, der titel ist eine hommage an die kroatische stadt, ist die reduzierteste nummer auf der e.p. und setzt gleichzeitig die direktesten anknüpfungspunkte zu füreders aktuellen groove-tracks.
der remix von “music i believe in” schließlich stammt von aka tell, seines zeichens mitbegründer und dj-aushängeschild von temp~records, und ist eine etwas straightere bearbeitung des themas. “music i believe in”, an ep created by marcus fuereder, is already the fifth release of the viennese label temp~records. this release also marks the celebration of the label’s one-year anniversary.
last year, marcus füreder, founder of the label etage noir, mostly attracted attention under his pseudonym parov stelar. the jazz-house hits arising from this creative work were released on etage noir and auris recordings. moreover, marcus füreder’s tracks were released for example on raum…musik under his real name. but even in those productions you can easily recognise his entire commitment to electronic sounds and minimal house.
on “music i believe in” you can find 3 tracks for club-usage and one remix. track 1, which is called “ash” and is certainly the catchiest track on this ep, is full of quotations and typical sound structures from the eighties. the title track “music i believe in” unquestionably carries a clear message. furthermore, it creates a close link to former productions by marcus füreder.
the track “premantura”, which is dedicated to a croatian town, is not only the most reduced track on the ep but also shows the most striking parallels to füreders latest groove-tracks.
finally, the remix of “music i believe in” is a somewhat straighter version of the title track. it was produced by dj aka tell, who is the co-founder and dj-figurehead of temp~records. tmp-005ep | 12" ep
